Menifee Lakes is the master-planned community that kicked off Menifee's growth. The Lusk Company developed it on former farmland starting in the late 1980s, with roughly 2,000 acres built around a man-made lake and an 18-hole golf course near Newport Road and the I-215. Most homes date from the late 1980s through the 1990s.
