Heritage Lake is a lake-centered planned community in northern Menifee, in the Romoland area. It was built in the 1990s and early 2000s with a private lake, parks and a mix of one- and two-story homes, and its residents have long said the post office's "Sun City" mailing name confused visitors.
Common water problems in Heritage Lake
- Aging water heaters and supply lines. Many homes are on their original or second water heater, and braided supply lines from the original build are reaching the end of their life.
- Two-story leaks. Upstairs tub, shower and toilet leaks show up as stains and sagging drywall below.
- Slab leaks. Homes of this age are starting to see pinhole leaks in under-slab lines.
- Storm drainage. Blocked side-yard drains during winter storms let water pool against walls and seep in at the slab.
Check the HOA's master policy and CC&Rs if the leak involves a shared wall, the roof of an attached home, or common-area landscaping.
